I hope you have profited from writing your papers.
I know that for many of you this was the first time
that you had such an assignment, which is
quite different from homework or hour exams.
I will bear this in mind when I read your work.
As you go on, you will find that mathematical and
scientific exposition is a skill, which improves with
practice. If you want some good models to learn
from in the literature, you can consult any paper
or book by J.-P. Serre or by John Milnor.

We'll have two review sessions this week, in the
usual classroom at the normal class time.
Wednesday I will review the material we covered
on rings, and Friday I will review the material we
covered on modules. These topics will be the main
ones covered on the final exam, as we have already
had two exams on group theory.

Only about a quarter of you have (so far) filled out your
course evaluations for Math 122. I would appreciate
hearing from all of you, with your comments, as would
the rest of the Math 122 teaching staff. You can get to the
course evaluation forms via the courses tab of my.harvard

Best, Dick Gross
