How are Taylor polynomials extensions of the notion of approximation using a tangent line? Think about what we are doing when getting a second degree Taylor polynomial from a geometric point of view. Reading Question : Suppose you want to approximation ln 1.1 using a tangent line approximation. At what point would you get the tangent line? Then if you want to use a Taylor polynomial approximation, at what point should you "center" the polynomial?
