Preclass assignment due with problem set # 22

Reading : Stewart: 8.7
Key areas of focus :
Notice that we approached the Taylor series differently, building it up from polynomial approximations. The approach in Stewart is more efficient, but (I think) less intuitive. On p. 616 there is a discussion about Taylor's remainder. Some sections will talk briefly about it; others may not. In any case, Stewart's statement, while correct, is difficult to use. In Theorem 9, if you say that M is an upper bound for the (n+1)st derivative of f at c where c could be any number between x and a, then the Theorem is still true, and simpler to apply.
