Wow,  we're done with chapter 9 already (don't worry, there are a few left for us this fall!). On to vector functions and space curves in chapter 10!

Our first Mathematica computer assignment is available at this point (it's due next week, either on Wednesday the 15th, or Thursday the 16th in class depending on whether you go to a MWF or a Tu/Thurs section).  Please go to First Computer assignment, to start the assignment.  Note that you'll need to get a password from the Mathematica site license people, and this can take a day to do, so start this assignment early (like right now!).  The assignment is designed to be relatively painless - the basic idea is to show you how easy it is to use mathematical software to help visualize things that would be very difficult to do by hand.  Many of the diagrams in our book were done with Mathematica, for instance.

Note, the CA's weekly problem sessions are running at this point.  If you can't make it to your own CA's session, then check CA Problem Sessions  to see when other sessions are being held.  Since all the sections are covering the same material, then you should be able to get the help you need at another CA's session.  Also, don't forget to take advantage of the Math Question Center, held every evening from 8 to 10 in Loker (except on Friday and Saturday nights) - this is a great place to get some help from a calculus CA, or meet other students to work on homework together.  Note - sometimes you might not be able to get a CA to  help you immediately, so be patient, and find other students to work with in the meantime.

We have a homework page at this point - you can check Assignments for all of our assignments this semester.  We will also post solutions to the homework on this link as well.

As a reminder, if anything comes up that keeps you from getting the most of the course, i.e. personal emergencies or other issues with the course, then please get in touch with me, Andy Engelward (engelward@math.harvard.edu), the coursehead for 21a.
