A message from former Math21a student who is now a
a tournament director for the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament:
Did you ever participate in high school math competitions?
How would you like to run one?
Harvard-MIT Math Tournament (HMMT) is an annual math tournament run
exclusively by Harvard and MIT students for over 600 high school
students from all over the East Coast. It is one of the largest
mathematics contests in the country.
We will be holding an introductory meeting on Saturday, September 30
at 6-7pm in Science Center E. Free pizza will be provided.
This is a unique opportunity to take part in making a large-scale
mathematics competition happen. We are still looking to find people for
key positions. However, your level of involvement is completely up to
you - we need people to help plan logistics, write the problems, or just
volunteer the day of the contest. (Note that not all positions relating
to running of the tournament are mathematically oriented, so anyone can
help.
If you would like any more information about the tournament, you can
check out the website
or email us at annachen@fas.harvard.edu, aying@fas.harvard.edu.
Thanks for your time, and we hope to see you soon!
