Midterm questionnaire
Thanks to fill out the traditional midterm questionnaire! Some random Comments
- The exam was hell. ... I began to study for the exam the day of the exam. Our answer: It should be hell when starting on the day of the exam.
- Practice exams were appreciated. One commented on having more detailed solutions. Our answer: yes, more detailed solutions would be nice. We usually write them up while grading. An advantage of having not so detailed solutions is that you have to think a bit more even with the solution key.
- Where was the 10'th exam question? Answer: the 10th question is a feature only present in the practice exams.
- Can we change the hourly to "hour and half'ly? Answer: The name "hourly" is historical and comes from a time when the exams were one hour long. These were the good old days. 90 minutes is already torture enough. Why still call it "hourly"? Oliver likes tradition.
- The review was useful but too fast. Answer: it is fast. It is helpful if you come to the review prepared. We need to cover everything in 90 minutes.
- Would it be possible to have a Mathematica workshop? Our answer: there will be a Mathematica workshop later in the semester. Currently, we want you to focus on the math. If you get problems, it is a great opportunity to network around.
- The MQC is sometimes crowded: we noticed but it depends on the days. It has become better now. Please make use of problem sessions.
- Some students still do not know or make use of the problem sessions. It is a great opportunity to discuss the material or ask questions about the homework, also older homework.
