Announcements:

The final exam has been graded, and final course grades have been determined. Your grades should be available via the registrar's website within the next week.

Final Exam Results:
median=64, mean=61.8 (out of 90)

You can download the hand-outs from class here:

Section 8-3 Handout
Section 9-1 Handout
Section 9-1 Homework
Chapter 10

There are two mistakes near the bottom of page 21 of the Chapter 10 hand-out. The last three sets of equations should read:
v"(x)=av(x) (this one is correct)
w"(t)=aw(t) (instead of w"(t)=av(t))
v(0)=v(pi)=0 (instead of v(x)=v(pi)=0)

There is a mistake on page 10 of the Section 8-3 hand-out. In the middle of the page, the eigenvalues for J should be 1 plus or minus *i times* the square root of 3, all over 2.

Hard copies of homework solutions are now available on reserve in Cabot Library.

Second Midterm Results:
median=38, mean=36.4 (out of 60)

First Midterm Results:
median=54, mean=52.3 (out of 60)
