We read the midterm evaluations. Below is a main summary.


Textbook:

General consens is that it is good book. Very few complaints: not enough examples. Examples in text closer to HW problems. Complicated explanations.

Hourly:

Most thought it was fair but challenging. Complaints: difficult (especially TF), tricky, unrelated to HW, a bit too long. more practice exams.

Homework:

Summary: Almost everybody find the homework ok. A handful think there are some problems which are too hard.

Lectures:

The lectures were voted effective to very effective.

Website:

Everybody seems happy about the website. Wishlist: due dates for homework, more handout sheets. Hints about doing proofs.

MQC

Is considered a big help. More CAs? Major complaint The room could be better.

Problem sessions

Those who go, like it. Surprisingly few actually can make it.
