Hi guys,
I just wanted to drop you a note which will hopefully release some of the excessive midterm anxiety. Many of you expressed a concern about how hard the exam was... Two things.
1. I highly doubt that anyone in the class was able to finish the exam. This means that everyone is on equal grounds and, in other words, nobody is particularly screwed;). I know you won't believe me until you actually see your grades, which might take a while:), but please do keep in mind that it's definitely not as bad as you think.
2. Take a moment to contemplate the brighter side of things: if there's a long exam that you're not expected to finish in the first place, at least you have a greater variety of problems to choose from. A shorter exam, on the other hand, would give you fewer options and thus could leave you in the embarrassing situation of having time but not really knowing how to approach a certain problem. So it could have been worse -- at least you know you used your 50min well. So cheer up and rejoice over the non-problem-set-ness this Friday (that's the one good thing about midterms).
Feel free to contact me if you need help with anything:), Do think deeply about subspaces:P,
Your friendly around-town CA
