Dear students,

first of all, a quick comment about the exam. I realize it might have been a little too hard, so if you did not quite finish it or missed some parts, you should not get worried or too much upset. It's only the first midterm and you'll have plenty of chances to make it up.

I understand it can frustrating not to be able to finish an exam, but on one hand it's really hard for a teacher to make an exam which is not too hard and not too easy. And, after all, for me it's better if the exam is a bit too hard than too easy, since if you all get 100 it means there was no point in having the exam!

Anyway, if you are curious to know how I would have written the solutions, you can find both the exam and the solutions on the course web page.

I still have to post the problem set for next week. Hopefully it will be posted tonight.
