Welcome! Or: "What is thees thang here fo'?"

Bienvenido! This dicussion group is for you guys to throw in questions, for us to answer them, and for the whole world to revel in the discourse. You're still welcome to use math25a@fas for private questions, but you can alternatively post a question here anonymously if you feel like it.

This is a threaded newsgroup, so please try to browse through the existing questions before starting a new thread. To this end, our only requirement is that you clearly label your post with an informative subject line. This way everyone can just scan the threads without reading the posts.

Hope this is convenient for everyone to use. If you have an underpowered computer (join the club!), you can try using "lynx" (join the club!), a text-based UNIX web browser. Actually, it may even be preferable to use Lynx once this discussion list gets a bit larger, since it is much faster than Netscape, even with pictures turned off.
