Well, with the time given to presentations today it will in fact be Friday when
we officially kick off the prob/stats section for the course. Our textbook
for this section will be available just online - it's so new that it not only
hasn't been published yet, but it's still in electronic form. You can find
the textbook (which for us starts at chapter 6) at the following link: http://users.rcn.com/econnally/math/courses/S-Y/stats.pdf Nice job on the presentations today - too bad that there was a problem hooking up everyone's Mac - I appreciate everyone's patience. I'll let you know who won the consultant's award (best presentation) on Friday. In the meantime there is a quiz on exponential functions on Friday - go to Barusch's section tomorrow for a more detailed review to get ready. There is a short homework assignment due Friday to get you going with the probability section (check the assignments page as usual). See you Friday - this time I'll surely have my voice back by then! Afternoon review/problem session times: Barusch's afternoon sessions are held in room 221 in the Science Center (or if the class isn't there, you should check up in the regular classroom in 309a). Monday and Wednesday's sessions meet 2 to 3pm and Tuesday/Thursday from 12 to 1pm. When accessing files from this website, if you need to read PDF files, you can download the Adobe Acrobat Reader for free. |
