"The Magician of Hiva Oa" is the latest book of Matthias Ackeret.
A nice, entertaining, funny and quick read. As usual, Ackeret knows to combine
some rather unusual personalities and locations in a magical way.
In the latest novel, the following iconic figures appear:
The book cover shows the "Sourcier d'Hiva Oa" from 1902. (The title of that painting (in French) is the title of the novel
(in German)).
Most of the story plays either in Zuerich's hotel Dolder or the restaurant Kronenhalle
or Hiva Oa, one of the Marquesas Islands.
