An IQ test. Part of it is quite funny. There is some relevance these
days in that basic reading and comprehension abilities are measured to be
in decline. I'm not so worried about this because comprehension and thinking skills
can be taught and learned. With proper training and good school systems,
the competence can be increased quickly. What I myself am much more worried about is if,
intelligence is used to willfully distort truths. It starts with changing
the meaning of words, it ends with not even listening to other arguments. The moral
justification to lie is in "doing good", but what is "good" is not so clear.
The danger lies in ideology, whether it is political or sociological.
Idiocracy that origins in ideology and uses intelligence
is infinitely more dangerous than idiocracy that comes from incompetence.
The later can be detected even by idiots. But smart folks fall for the former.
