New: April 2025: Rheinfall (Switzerland) Panoramas

Panorama photography is fascinating. I have experimented with it since 1999, then came panorama optical lenses for traditional cameras. Now of course, with iphone features, it is almost trivial. Back in 2006, I wrote even C code from scratch to unwrap 360 video because the software which came with 0-360 "parabolic mirror" only would process pictures. I took the frames apart and converted each frame. Like for a youtube project "Life in a day at 360 degrees" from 2010. In 2020, there was already GoPro Max Cameras. Now, with more competition like Insta 360, the ease of use and quality has become better. And finally, we got drones. The mathematics of 360 degree pictures is very interesting: some work from 2007 and work from 2009. I still like the Papers we wrote then, like also here , and here in 2007. Here are some panoramas since 1999 And now, here we go in 2025. You can click on a picture to see the panorama. (Drag to move and use wheel to zoom in). The JPG links goes to the 12000 x 6000 pixel pictures. Note that because the picture file is huge (more than 30 Meg), each panorama takes some time to load.
