Thanks to Craig Smorynski, who suggested the movie. I agree with his assessment
"an overdone sci-fi movie with lots of scientific-sounding dialog,
fantastic plot, but it does feature the Antikythera mechanism"
It is indeed quite a cheesy TV show. As almost always with TV shows, the story and especially the
science part is ludricrous. The underlying idea however is amusing and quite original:
all the ancient archelogical sites (and Stonehenge is the main one) conspire to
terraform the earth, the idea being that the original planted mechanism that has produced humans,
has a reboot option built in. The Anticitera plays an important role too.
Of course, the heros of the movie save the day and prevent the reboot in the last second.
Tools are geiger counter type magnetic field measuring devices.
Somebody counted how many times "Electromagnetic" occurs in the movie: 26 times.
