| Course Description: | Continued investigation of functions and differential calculus through modeling; an introduction to integration with applications; an introduction to differential equations. Solid preparation for Mathematics 1b. This course, when taken for a letter grade together with Mathematics Xa, meets the Core area requirement for Quantitative Reasoning. |
Please take a look at the Exams page for information on the final exam and how you can study for it. In particular, there is information about review sessions, office hours, and review guides.
The format of the final exam will be somewhat different than the formats of the midterms. The final exam will consist of two parts. Part One will consist of four differentiation problems and four integration problems. You will not be allowed to use a calculator on Part One. After you turn in Part One, you will be given Part Two, which will have a format similar to the midterms. You will be allowed to use a calculator on Part Two.
The redemption policy used last semester in Math Xa will be in effect this semester as well. If a student's final exam grade is higher than their lower midterm grade, then the student's final exam grade will replace that midterm grade.
