When dropping an object the height depends in a quadratic manner on time.
It is a simple concept, but a nice idea: it is used by seaguls to crack shells,
by asteriod probes to deploy robots on asteriods it also has
appeared when busting dams during war.

billiard in a gravitational field. Here is a numerically computed picture
