Jupiter, an amazing sphere
The Webb Space Telescope has taken the following picture on August 22, 2022 using the
Near-Infrared Camera. One can see northern and southern auroras, and Amalthea and Adrastea,
two of the Planets moons. One believes that the planet has 79 moons. But Amalthea and Adrastea
are actually moons of Io, a larger moon of Jupiter. There are 4 bigger moons which orbit Jupiter:
Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.
Source. From the point of view of multi-variable calculus, the planet Jupiter illustrates many things,
the strips are best described in spherical coordinates φ=const. There is also a rather particular vector field
in present, the wind velocity field.

Hubble picture from 2020 when Jupiter was 406 Million miles from earth. The great red spot is
interesting for multi-variable calculus too. It illustrates curl.
