Dale Chihuly currently has an exhibit in
Boston.
The organic glass forms are inspired by nature.
I tried to build such an organic structure in Mathematica by
drawing 200 parametric surfaces along spiral paths leading from
the center outwards. To build the structure the TNB frame
is crucial. This is how the surfaces are drawn: If r(t) is a curve, then
r(t,s) = r(t) + cos(s) N(t) + sin(s) B(t)
defines a surface which is a tube around this curve.
