Midterm 2 will be held from 7-9pm on Thursday, April 27th in Science Center Hall D. This midterm will cover section 21.4, Appendix F, all of Chapters 22, 23, and 24, and sections 25.1 and 25.2 in our textbook. A review session (which hopefully will be videotaped) will be held on 4/20 from 5 to 6:30pm in SC Hall A. This exam will have the same format as Midterm 1. There will be two parts of the exam. On the first part, which is relatively short, you will not be allowed to use a calculator. This part may have computationally based problems, such as calculating definite integrals, finding antiderivatives, finding derivatives of inverse trig functions, finding limits, or finding an area function. The second part of the exam, on which you will be allowed to use a calculator, will have a format much like the second part of Midterm 1.
Keep in mind that the material covered in the second midterm from 2004 and 2005 was different that the material covered for this midterm exam.
Below you will find review materials for the midterm. We will be updating these materials frequently, so please check back. An addition has been made to the review guide -- you should be able to follow and to reproduce the steps of the proof of the first part of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus (p. 757-758 in the textbook)
