- Second Old Final Exam [To Be Posted]
- Third Old Final Exam [To Be Posted]
- Fourth Old Final Exam [To Be Posted]
Caution! These exams were not written by us and will not necessarily reflect the style of problems you will see on the midterm. Also, writing exams requires some compromises on what topics are emphasized. Again, these exams do not reflect our own biases, and even if a particular topic is not covered in depth on the sample exams it may still appear on the actual exam.
Solutions will be posted at least four or five days before the final exam. You are strongly urged to work the exam problems without looking at solutions.
Policies
The final exam is a three-hour exam administered by the FAS Exams Office and is required for all enrolled students. Students who miss the exam will automatically receive a grade of ABS for the course. Scheduling out-of-sequence final exams is handled by the FAS Exams Office. Quoting the official FAS Final Exam Schedule:
No instructor has the authority to approve alternate times, dates, locations, or accommodations for an exam scheduled by the FAS Exams Office. Special accommodations must be approved by the appropriate governing body or administrative office. Circumventing these procedures may jeopardize a student's grade in the course.
Students with two FAS exams scheduled at the same date and time according to the schedule below will be contacted by the Exams Office before the last day of classes. The Exams Office will resolve the conflict automatically by rescheduling one of the student's two exams to a time within 24 hours of the original exam time. Any student who believes he/she has a conflict with an exam that is not listed on the schedule below should contact the Exams Office immediately.
Students with questions about taking an exam on a different date/time/location, or requesting special accommodations should contact one of the administrative offices [listed on that web page].

Policies
Official policy at Harvard is that “out of sequence” exams are only offered for students observing religious holidays and students who need an out of sequence exam as ordered from the accessible education office. We sometimes can accommodate students who happen to have an important sports event at the same time (it must be an actual game or tournament) or a concert or theater event (regular practice or rehearsals of course do not qualify to miss the exam) or a political election event (for which you are a major candidate). In case of a qualifying conflict, contact the course head to see whether it is possible to arrange the exam earlier the same day. We will need a letter from your coach or director. For this exam, the request is due by the end of the day Thursday, April 2nd. You must contact the course head even if you had an out of sequence exam for the first midterm!
